1940 – 44 1st Batallion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 2nd Lieutenant, Lieutenant, Captain. ‘Put on ships, taken off ships, trained for the German Invasion of UK in Carnoustie, trained to invade on the Isle of Wight, sent on intelligence course in Dumbarton, before rejoining regiment July 1943 for Operation Husky, the Invasion of Sicily.
